Create and Connect
The focus of our Create and Connect workshops is “Art for Wellbeing”.
Through guided tutelage in painting, drawing, collage, textiles, sculpture and other disciplines we find the enjoyment within the process of creating. Using a variety of fun and experimental techniques participants are encouraged to find a path of expression in which their own personal creative flower blooms.
Within the program year we will be engaging in exhibitions in- house and within the community, to further enhance the confidence and experience of Create and Connect participants.
The Key elements of the program are – creative – community – confidence
We are fortunate to have Care Vaughan as the Art Facilitator. Besides being a talented graphic artist, she has also received advanced mentorship from Illuminart’s Leading Lights project, in the high level process of devising and managing a community arts project featuring digital media public outcomes.

Create and Connect ACTIVITIES
TERM 1, 2018
Art in which the idea or concept presented by the artist is considered more important than the finished product.
We will be looking at ‘What’ we are doing with our Art, consider ‘Why’ we are doing it and ask the question “How’ might I do it differently?
SUSTAINABLE ART PRACTICE
Art that is produced with consideration for the wider impact on the environment. Let’s look at the materials we use in our Art and how we can re-use and re-cycle to maintain a sustainable art practice whilst still creating art that engages with the public and most importantly… ourselves.
INSTALLATION & PUBLIC ART
Installation Art is a form of art which is installed or put in its surroundings or environment. It is often site specific and designed to transform the perception of space.
Public art is any media that has been planned and executed with the intention of being staged in the physical public domain, usually outside and accessible to all.
